Brazilian coffee exports totaled 42.96 million 60-kg bags between July 2024 and May 2025, according to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé). The volume represents a 2% decrease compared to the same period in the previous cycle when the country shipped 43.7 million bags — the highest figure ever recorded for eleven months. The data is detailed in Cecafé’s May 2025 Monthly Report.
Despite the drop in volume, export revenue reached an all-time high. Between July 2024 and May 2025, Brazil earned USD 13.69 billion from coffee exports, with an average price of USD 318.64 per bag. “This is already the highest revenue ever recorded in a single crop year,” Cecafé reported. The figure surpasses the previous record of USD 9.82 billion, set in the 2023/24 season. June 2025 revenue is yet to be added, which could push the final total above USD 14 billion.
Arabica accounted for 76.74% of total exports, with 32.97 million bags. Conilon and robusta represented 14.19%, totaling 6.1 million bags. Soluble coffee accounted for 8.93%, or 3.84 million bags, while roasted and ground coffee reached 51,000 bags, making up approximately 0.1% of exports.
Considering only May 2025, Brazil exported 2.93 million bags, a 33.3% drop compared to the same month in 2024, when exports reached 4.44 million bags, the highest May volume on record. Even with the decline in volume, revenue reached USD 1.24 billion, representing a 21.1% increase compared to the same month in the previous year. “This is the highest revenue ever recorded in a single May for Brazilian coffee exports,” Cecafé highlighted.
From January to May 2025, the country exported 16.79 million bags, generating USD 6.82 billion in revenue.

The United States remained the leading destination, purchasing 2.87 million bags, despite a 17.39% decline compared to the same period in 2024. Germany ranked second with 2.11 million bags, a 28.7% decrease. Italy, with 1.37 million bags, saw a 17.52% drop.
Japan ranked fourth, with purchases increasing 10.6% to 1.09 million bags. Next in line were Belgium, Turkey, the Netherlands, Russia, Spain, and South Korea, which reentered the top 10 after a 9.83% increase in imports.
The performance of specialty coffee exports, which include high-quality or sustainability-certified products, was also noteworthy. Between January and May 2025, Brazil exported 3.7 million bags of specialty coffee, accounting for 22% of total shipments during the period. However, this marked a 7.2% decrease compared to the first five months of 2024.
