Brazil extends public consultation on Paranaguá–Antonina port master plan

Brazil’s Ministry of Ports and Airports has extended by 15 days the deadline for submitting public contributions to the consultation on the Master Plan for the Paranaguá and Antonina Port Complex in the state of Paraná.

With the extension, participation — which had been set to close on Sunday (March 8) — will now remain open until March 23.

The ministry said the decision responds to requests from stakeholders involved in the development of the Paranaguá–Antonina port complex. Civil society, government agencies and private organizations are all invited to submit proposals aimed at improving the public policy framework for the sector.

The Master Plan is a strategic planning instrument developed for each port complex in Brazil. Its purpose is to guide short-, medium- and long-term actions and investments, covering port operations, the relationship between ports and surrounding cities, and access infrastructure to the port complexes, as established under sector legislation.

Contributions must be properly identified and supported with justification and submitted through an online form available on the Brasil Participativo platform. The website also provides access to the draft version of the Paranaguá–Antonina Port Complex Master Plan and its appendix.
