Brazil fertilizer deliveries rise 7.8% to 45.27 million tonnes

Fertilizer deliveries to Brazil totaled 4.33 million tonnes in November 2025, up 2.6% from the same month a year earlier, when sales reached 4.21 million tonnes, according to data from ANDA, Brazil’s National Association for Fertilizer Distribution. From January through November, deliveries reached 45.27 million tonnes, an increase of 7.8% compared with the same period in 2024, when volumes totaled 42 million tonnes.
Mato Grosso remained the country’s largest consumer, accounting for 22.7% of national demand, or 10.28 million tonnes. It was followed by Paraná with 5.42 million tonnes, São Paulo with 4.83 million tonnes, Rio Grande do Sul with 4.60 million tonnes, Minas Gerais with 4.38 million tonnes, Goiás with 4.36 million tonnes and Bahia with 2.95 million tonnes.
Domestic production of intermediate fertilizers totaled 517,000 tonnes in November 2025, a decline of 11.8% from the same month in 2024. Over the January–November period, output reached 6.72 million tonnes, up 4.1% from 6.46 million tonnes a year earlier.
Imports amounted to 3.85 million tonnes in November 2025, down 12.7% year on year. From January through November, total fertilizer imports reached 39.70 million tonnes, a 4.8% increase compared with 37.90 million tonnes in the same period of 2024.

A total of 17,004,846 tonnes of fertilizer were discharged at the Port of Paranaguá throughout 2025, according to data from Datamar’s DataLiner platform.
The Port of Paranaguá consolidated its position as Brazil’s main entry point for fertilizers, with 9.95 million tonnes imported over the period, up 6.4% from 2024, when volumes totaled 9.35 million tonnes. The terminal accounted for 25.1% of all fertilizer imports handled by Brazilian ports, according to data from Siacesp and the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC).
