Brazil mining sector revenue climbs 8.2% in first half of 2026

Brazil’s mining sector generated 150.7 billion reais in revenue during the first half of 2026, marking an 8.2% increase compared to the same period last year, according to lobby group Ibram.
The sector’s export revenue reached $25.1 billion in the first six months of the year, up 24.1% from a year earlier, Ibram reported.
Total mining sector exports from Brazil reached 196.2 million metric tons in the first half, representing a 2.4% increase from the same period in 2025.
Iron ore exports specifically totaled 189.4 million tons during the period, which was 2.4% higher than the first half of 2025, the mining industry group said.
