Brazil’s pork exports totaled 122,100 tonnes in February 2026, a 6.7% increase from the same month a year earlier, according to data released Friday by the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA). Growth was driven mainly by stronger demand from Asian markets, particularly the Philippines, which increased imports of Brazilian pork during the month.
ABPA said Brazil exported 114,400 tonnes of pork in February 2025. This year, shipments rose to 122,100 tonnes.
Revenue also rises
Export revenue reached $284.1 million in February, up 4.1% from the $272.9 million recorded in the same month last year.
In the first two months of 2026, Brazil exported 238,400 tonnes of pork, an 8.1% increase compared with the 220,500 tonnes shipped in the same period of 2025.
Export revenue also grew during the period. In the first two months of 2026, the sector generated $554.4 million, compared with $510.9 million in the same period a year earlier, an increase of 8.5%.

Main destinations
Among importing markets, the Philippines expanded its lead as the main destination for Brazilian pork. In February, the country imported 40,900 tonnes, a 77.4% increase from the same month last year.
Japan ranked second with 12,100 tonnes, up 34.8%, followed by China with 11,100 tonnes, down 43%.
Other key destinations included Chile with 8,800 tonnes, up 6%, and Hong Kong with 8,000 tonnes, down 40%.
Additional markets included Singapore with 5,400 tonnes, down 16.6%, Argentina with 4,300 tonnes, down 10.5%, Uruguay with 4,000 tonnes, up 8.7%, Mexico with 3,200 tonnes, up 8%, and Georgia with 3,100 tonnes, up 122%.
Exports by state
Santa Catarina remained Brazil’s largest pork-exporting state in February, with shipments totaling 57,000 tonnes. The volume, however, represented a 7.7% decline compared with the same month last year.
Rio Grande do Sul ranked second with 29,700 tonnes exported, a 24.1% increase, followed by Paraná with 20,600 tonnes, up 15.3%. Mato Grosso shipped 3,900 tonnes, up 39.2%, while Minas Gerais exported 3,100 tonnes, an increase of 34.3%.
Industry outlook
ABPA President Ricardo Santin said the expansion across multiple markets has supported export performance.
“The strong growth in markets such as the Philippines and Japan demonstrates importers’ confidence in the sanitary status, supply reliability and competitiveness of protein produced in Brazil,” Santin said.
He added that the diversification of export destinations is helping reduce dependence on specific markets while opening new trade opportunities.
“In this context, factors such as sanitary credibility, production capacity and logistical efficiency are no longer merely conditions but are becoming strategic advantages to sustain export growth throughout the year,” he said.
