Brazil’s federal port authority CODEBA published on Monday (19) a notice launching an electronic tender to hire a specialized company to carry out maintenance dredging of the access channel to the Port of Itajaí, according to an announcement in the Official Gazette.
The tender, identified as Electronic Auction No. 90001/2026, covers dredging works in the internal and external channels, berths and turning basins. Interested bidders must demonstrate technical and operational capacity compatible with the scope of the project.
The services will be carried out in areas of the Port of Itajaí under CODEBA’s responsibility and are scheduled to run for 12 months. The port currently operates under a shared management model with CODEBA, which is linked to Brazil’s Ministry of Ports and Airports.
Maintenance dredging is considered essential to ensure navigability in the Itajaí-Açu River access channel. The current desilting operations are performed by Dutch dredging company Van Oord.
The full tender notice is available in Brazil’s Official Gazette.
