Amid the meetings of the 23rd Conference of Ministers of Agriculture of the Americas on Tuesday (4), the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Carlos Fávaro, announced important achievements for Brazilian agribusiness: the European Union informed that it will resume the authorization system based on the indication of the Brazilian sanitary authority, the so-called pre-listing, for egg-exporting establishments.
In addition, European authorities indicated their intention to carry out an audit of Brazil’s fishery products system in mid-2026.
According to the minister, with the confirmation of the pre-listing system, all Brazilian egg-producing establishments that meet sanitary requirements will be eligible to export to the European Union.
Pre-listing is a system in which the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) certifies and recommends Brazilian establishments that meet the sanitary requirements demanded by the European Union.
“Another good piece of news is the confirmation of an audit for fishery products at the beginning of next year, which may open the Brazilian market in Europe,” the minister highlighted.
At the end of October, the Secretary of Trade and International Relations of Mapa met with the European Commissioner for Agriculture, Christophe Hansen, in São Paulo, where these topics were discussed, along with the resumption of the pre-listing system for Brazilian poultry meat, which is expected to be made official within a month, together with the pre-listing for eggs.
