Brazilian exports of beef should exceed 3 million tons carcass weight equivalent (CWE) this year, announced the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) on Tuesday (April 11). The volume represents nearly 25% of the beef protein traded globally (12.1 million tons), almost 4% higher than the amount shipped last year.
See below the track record of Brazilian beef exports (hs codes 0201, 0202) from Jan 2019 to Feb 2023. The data is from DataLiner.

The reopening of the Chinese economy should keep the demand heated while other major beef suppliers will struggle to supply it.
According to the US-based institution, Brazilian production should reach 10.57 million tonnes, an increase of 2.13% YoY. The world will produce 59.15 million tonnes, less than the 59.35 million tonnes seen in 2022.
