The Federal Government aims to expedite concessions for private-use terminals (TUPs) and leases in public ports through the Navegue Simples program, set to launch this Tuesday (18) at 11 a.m. in Brasília. Part of the Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), this initiative plans to attract investments totaling R$5.4 billion.
The program will be hosted by the Minister of Ports and Airports, Silvio Costa Filho, along with Vice President and Minister of Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services, Geraldo Alckmin, and the National Waterborne Transport Agency (Antaq). The event will take place in the auditorium at the Ministry of Ports and Airports headquarters, located in block R of the Esplanada dos Ministérios.
Minister Silvio Costa Filho first announced Navegue Simples during his participation in the Summit Antaq, organized by Grupo Tribuna on November 23 last year at the Eldorado Brasil Celulose terminal on the Right Bank of the Port of Santos.
At that event, Costa Filho explained that the program integrates efforts from the Ministry of Ports and Airports, Antaq, and the Federal Audit Court (TCU). “Over the past ten years, any new project, whether a port, terminal, or lease, took three to four years to materialize. We aim to streamline this process, reducing the authorization period for new terminal concessions from three years to six to eight months. This will accelerate investments in Brazil,” he stated in November.
