2020 was a very positive year for Brazilian honey producers. According to the Brazilian Association of Honey Exporters, last year, more than 45,600 tons of production were sent to the foreign market, an increase of almost 50% in relation to 2019, when the volume was approximately 30,000 tons.
The US alone purchases 80% of the honey produced in Brazil.
Paraná is the largest Brazilian producer, with Maringá the largest exporter in Brazil. The municipality receives about 3,000 beekeepers from all regions.
