Week 202136

The daily average export volume for beef exports reached 12,400 tons in the first half of September –  an increase of 83.1% year-on-year.  According to the content director of Canal Rural, Giovani Ferreira, the month is set to be exceptional. “In just 13 days, Brazil has already exported 60% of the entire volume exported in September last year,” he said. In the first two weeks, Brazil shipped approximately 87,000 tons of beef. In the whole of last September, the total was 142,000 tons.

According to Giovani Ferreira, the country is on the way to beating last year’s record of 2.02 million tons, but it will be necessary to work hard. “We will have to ship 150,000 tons per month, but it is possible,” he said.

Chicken

September is also looking like a good month of chicken exports. The volume shipped in the first two weeks was 171,349 tons, which is already 53.62% up on September 2020. “Brazil may even have the best September in history in terms of chicken exports”.

Swine

The highlight of Brazilian meat exports this month was pork. “The cumulative total for the year so far is 715,000 tons, which means Brazil has already surpassed the second best mark in history which was in 2019 when 656,000 tons were exported. With just over three months to go until the end of 2021, the country must surely surpass last year’s record, when it exported 900,000 tons”.
