The Brazilian government announced that health authorities in Azerbaijan have authorized the import of thermoprocessed meat products from poultry, cattle, goats, sheep, and swine from Brazil.
The measure expands access for Brazil’s agribusiness to new markets and adds to the 442 openings achieved since the beginning of 2023, across 72 countries.
Azerbaijan, located in the Caucasus with an estimated population of 10.2 million, has been strengthening its trade relationship with Brazil. In 2024, Brazilian sales to the country exceeded USD 21 million, led by meat, forestry products, and other animal-based goods.
Another recent opening was announced with Singapore, which authorized the import of beef tallow for industrial use, including in biofuel production.
Last year alone, the Asian country imported more than USD 680 million in Brazilian agricultural products, positioning itself as both an important logistics hub and a growing consumer of renewable energy inputs.
Below is a history of Brazilian meat exports to Asia, starting in January 2022. The chart was prepared with DataLiner data:

These new market openings come at a time of expanding foreign sales for the sector. In August 2025, Brazilian agribusiness exports totaled USD 14.29 billion, representing a 1.5% increase compared to the same month last year. Growth was driven by a 5.1% increase in export volume, which offset the decline in international prices.
Among the top-performing products were soybeans, which generated USD 3.88 billion with shipments up 16.2%; fresh beef, which totaled USD 1.5 billion with a 23.5% increase in volume; and corn, which reached USD 1.36 billion in exports, 12.9% above 2024 levels.
In addition, beef tallow achieved its best result on record for the month, with 64,700 tonnes exported and revenues of USD 74.1 million, a growth of more than 36%.
