Brazilian pork exports rise 10% in first half

Brazilian pork exports reached 794,200 tonnes in the first half of 2026, up 10% from the same period in 2025, when shipments totaled 722,000 tonnes, according to data from the Brazilian Animal Protein Association, ABPA.

Export revenue from January through June reached US$1.859 billion, a 7.9% increase from the US$1.723 billion recorded a year earlier. In June alone, pork exports totaled 132,400 tonnes, down 3.5% from the same month in 2025. Revenue for the month reached US$312.8 million, an 8.4% decline from US$341.7 million in June last year.

The Philippines was the leading destination for Brazilian pork in June, purchasing 23,500 tonnes. It was followed by Japan, with 17,200 tonnes; Chile, with 11,700 tonnes; China, with 11,400 tonnes; and Hong Kong, with 8,000 tonnes.

Other major buyers included Mexico, with 6,900 tonnes; Singapore and Argentina, with 5,900 tonnes each; Vietnam, with 5,800 tonnes; and Uruguay, with 4,700 tonnes.

Santa Catarina remained Brazil’s top pork-exporting state, shipping 65,200 tonnes in June. Rio Grande do Sul ranked second, with 31,400 tonnes, followed by Paraná, with 20,700 tonnes; Minas Gerais, with 4,100 tonnes; and Mato Grosso, with 4,000 tonnes.
