The monthly report from the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (Cecafé) indicated that Brazil recorded the highest export revenue in history for coffee shipments during the 2024/25 crop year. Shipments to foreign markets generated US$14.728 billion, a 49.5% increase compared to the previous record, set between July 2023 and the end of June 2024.

According to the organization, the record revenue was driven by product inflation, mainly caused by weather events.

“Prices, especially in the second half of 2024, were strongly influenced by lower production potential in the world’s main producing countries — a situation observed over practically the past five years, as extreme weather events have affected coffee plantations in Brazil, Vietnam, Colombia, and Indonesia,” said Cecafé president Márcio Ferreira. “This led to a significant increase in the value of coffee.”

During the period, Brazil exported a total of 45.589 million 60-kg bags — equivalent to 152,938 containers — of all types of coffee to 115 countries. This represents a 3.9% decline compared to the 47.455 million bags shipped during the previous crop year. In terms of volume, this was the third-best performance in history, behind only the previous crop and the 2020/21 season.

“The third-highest mark in the history of Brazilian coffee exports is significant, as it was achieved despite geopolitical conflicts, which create even more challenges for global trade logistics, and outdated infrastructure at Brazilian ports, which causes repeated delays and schedule changes,” Ferreira highlighted.

In June alone, the country exported 2.606 million bags, generating US$1.030 billion in foreign exchange revenue. This performance raised Brazil’s coffee shipments in the first half of 2025 to 19.411 million bags, generating US$7.519 billion in revenue.
