BRF, one of the largest food companies in the country, informed that it received licenses to export pork offal to Singapore from its units located in Campos Novos (SC) and Toledo (PR).
“Animal protein consumption in Singapore and other Southeast Asian markets has been growing at a stronger pace. Therefore, the qualifications of our units are an important strategic step that will allow us to diversify our portfolio of exported products”, says the executive manager of Institutional Relations at the company, Luiz Tavares, in a note. “Singapore is one of BRF’s main destinations in Asia, along with China, Japan, Vietnam, and South Korea”, he completed.
According to BRF, the Campos Novos plant in the country is the one with the largest number of licenses for the sale of pork products abroad. It is the only one that can export to South Korea, for example, and its products also arrive in the markets of South Africa, Argentina, Chile, Singapore, Haiti, Japan, Russia, Ukraine, Uruguay, and Hong Kong.
