The Government of Ceará plans to cover the costs of one of the four power transmission lines to be implemented at the Port of Pecém. The initiative was announced by Domingos Filho, Secretary of Economic Development, during an interview with the Opinião CE portal. He also commented on the future installation of data centers in the state.
The Pecém Industrial and Port Complex (CIPP) is considered a strategic hub for the local economy and has already signed seven pre-contracts for green hydrogen (H2V) projects.
According to Domingos, Governor Elmano de Freitas presented a proposal to Minister of Mines and Energy Alexandre Silveira for the State to undertake the construction of the main transmission line. The proposal, according to the secretary, is nearing completion.
The forecast is that this first line will be financed through an international loan or a public-private partnership (PPP). According to the secretary, this is a bold and innovative move necessary to overcome the current main obstacle of the CIPP: power transmission infrastructure.
