Sales of salmon and trout from Chile to Brazil continue to grow. In the first quarter, shipments totaled USD 247 million (+0.6%). Despite the slight increase, Brazil remains the main destination in Latin America for Chilean fishing and aquaculture products.
Another major highlight in Chile’s export portfolio is dairy products—such as powdered milk, whey, and mozzarella and gouda cheeses—which recorded USD 11.49 million in sales in the same period, a significant 137.8% increase.
Lamb, pork, and poultry meats are next on the list, with USD 2.48 million (+202.4%).
Meanwhile, conventional and organic fruit juice sales reached USD 1.30 million, a 364.3% jump. The data comes from ProChile, an agency under Chile’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs responsible for promoting Chilean trade and exports in the Brazilian market.
“The strong trade relationship between Chile and Brazil, along with the high quality of our products, allows us to continue expanding exports in the fishing and aquaculture sector and broadening our export portfolio to include products like dairy, lamb, and pork meats. This solid commercial relationship makes Brazil our leading export market in Latin America,” said Hugo Corales, ProChile’s Commercial Director in Brazil.
