China’s imports and exports grow for 13 consecutive months

The total value of China’s imports and exports has been growing for 13 consecutive months, reaching record levels, said the Director of Statistics and Analysis of the General Administration of Customs, Li Kuiwen, at a press conference July 13th.
He said that from January to June this year, the value of imports and exports totaled 18.07 trillion yuan, up 27.1% over the same period last year. Exports alone reached 9.85 trillion yuan, up 28.1% year-on-year, and the value of imports totaled 8.22 trillion yuan, an increase of 25.9%. In June, China’s foreign trade grew 22% compared to the same period in 2020, reaching 3.29 trillion yuan.

According to Li Kuiwen, in the first half of the year, exports of mechanical and electrical products were satisfactory, with a total value of 5.83 trillion yuan and an increase of 29.5% year-on-year.
