CMA CGM will revise the rotation of its SIRIUS service, which links the Mediterranean with the east coast of South America, by adding a call at Itajaí and removing Itaguaí from the route.
According to the company, the change is part of an adjustment to its service offering in the region. Under the updated rotation, Itajaí will become part of the service’s Brazil calls, while Itaguaí will no longer be served.
The last vessel to call at Itaguaí will be the CC Lisa Marie, on voyage 0NSNJS1MA southbound and 0NSNKN1MA northbound. The ship is scheduled to depart Tangier on May 23 and arrive at Itaguaí on June 13.
The first vessel to call at Itajaí will be the Santa Ines, on voyage 0NSNLS1MA southbound and 0NSNMN1MA northbound. Departure from Tangier is scheduled for May 29, with arrival at Itajaí on June 16.
With the change, the new SIRIUS service rotation will be: Tangier NB, Algeciras, Tangier SB, Salvador, Santos southbound, Itapoá, Itajaí, Paranaguá, Santos northbound, Tangier NB and Algeciras.
The company said the adjustment will also lead to changes in the service’s pro forma schedule, mainly affecting the northbound calls at Paranaguá and Santos.
In Paranaguá, the berthing window will shift from Wednesday to Thursday (7), with a one-day delay. At Santos northbound, the call will move from Friday to Saturday, also one day later than under the previous schedule.
Arrival at the port of Tangier, however, will remain unchanged, according to the carrier.
