Codesa’s cargo handling up 40% in February

In the first two months of this year, cargo handling at the ports of Vitória and Barra do Riacho reached 1,459,089 t, an increase of 28.57% compared to the first two months of 2021 (1,134,870 t). In February alone, there were 709,204 t, 39.83% higher than the same month in 2021.
In January and February, general cargo stands out with a growth of 375.80% (91,729 t in 2021 and 436,443 t in 2022). In this segment, steel products had a substantial increase of 4,668%, going from 6,146 t to 293,042 t.
Most of the navigation in these two months was long-haul (55.35%). Cabotage navigation accounted for 44.65%. There were a total of 151 berths compared to 119 last year (+26.89%).
