Brazil’s coffee output of processed bags is expected to reach a record level in 2026, rising 17.1% year on year, according to a forecast released on Thursday (5) by Companhia Nacional de Abastecimento (Conab).
Under Conab’s first 2026 Coffee Crop Survey, total production is projected at 66.2 million processed 60-kg bags, surpassing the previous 2025 cycle.
“If confirmed, this will mark a new record in the company’s historical series, exceeding the 2020 harvest, when 63.1 million bags were produced,” Conab said.
More Area and Higher Yields
The increase is driven by factors including a 4.1% expansion in the area planted compared with last year. The total cultivated area is estimated at 1.9 million hectares in the current season.
Conab also projects a 12.4% rise in productivity from the previous crop, with yields reaching 34.2 bags per hectare.
According to the agency, higher productivity reflects more favorable weather conditions and the adoption of technology and improved crop management practices.
Arabica and Conilon
Arabica coffee production is estimated at 44.1 million bags, an increase of 23.3% compared with the 2025 cycle.
“This increase is attributed to a larger producing area, more favorable weather conditions and a positive year in the biennial production cycle,” Conab said.
Output of conilon coffee is also expected to rise. The estimated harvest stands at 22.1 million bags, representing a 6.4% increase from 2025.

If confirmed, Conab said, the figure will set a new record, driven by expanded planted area and favorable weather conditions so far.
