Cotton/Cepea: Limited Supply and Strong Export Pace Keep Cotton Prices on the Rise

Cotton lint prices continue to climb in Brazil. According to researchers from Cepea, the upward trend is supported by firm seller positions, limited supply from the 2023/24 season, and a strong pace of fiber exports.

Cepea data show that the CEPEA/ESALQ Indicator for cotton lint (with 8-day payment terms) rose by 4.04% in April.

This marks the third consecutive monthly increase and the sharpest since February 2024, when prices jumped by 9.46%. In this context, domestic lint prices are now above export parity, and this advantage has been widening in early May.
