Ecovias presents Santos-Guarujá Bridge plans

The Anchieta-Imigrantes Highway concessionaire, Ecovias, has presented a plan for the Santos-Guarujá Bridge to the Santos Port Council Authority (CAP). The bridge connecting Santos and Guarujá will be 7.5km long and will cost approximately R$2.9bn.
The proposed plan shows that the connection will be between the 64km mark on the Anchieta Highway and the 150km mark on the Cônego Domênico Rangoni Highway. The speed limit will be a maximum of 80km/hr; however, some of the access roads will be restricted to 40km/hr. The new bridge will cut the travel time from today’s 1hour 30minutes to 40minutes and remove logistical bottlenecks for cargo transport within the port.
Plans show the Santos-Guarujá Bridge will be 85m above sea level with 325m between supporting pillars. The Ministry of Logistics and Transportation believes the construction work will take three years to complete.
