Exports of paddy rice drop 53.8% in September

Exports of paddy rice reached 81.7 thousand tonnes in September, marking a 53.8% decrease compared to the volume sold in the same month of 2022, as reported by the Brazilian Rice Industry Association (Abiarroz) based on data from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce.
In terms of revenue, sales decreased by 42.5%, totaling $33.3 million.
Out of the total trade volume, 41.6 thousand tonnes comprised processed rice, resulting in $17.3 million in revenue.

Imports for the month reached 112.7 thousand tonnes, showing a 5.6% decline in annual comparison. However, expenditures on these imports increased by 25.3%, reaching $46.6 million.
