Fertilizer deliveries in Brazil up 10.7% from January to July 2025

Deliveries of fertilizers to the Brazilian market totaled 5.15 million tonnes in July 2025, up 11.7% from the same month last year, when 4.61 million tonnes were sold, according to the National Association for Fertilizer Diffusion (ANDA). From January to July, total deliveries reached 25.29 million tonnes, a 10.7% increase compared with the same period in 2024 (22.84 million tonnes).
The state of Mato Grosso remained the country’s top consumer, accounting for 22.9% of total demand, equivalent to 5.78 million tonnes. It was followed by Paraná (3.54 million tonnes), São Paulo (2.67 million tonnes), Goiás (2.45 million tonnes), Minas Gerais (2.14 million tonnes), Rio Grande do Sul (2.07 million tonnes), and Bahia (1.65 million tonnes).
Domestic production of intermediate fertilizers reached 646,000 tonnes in July, down 4.1% from the same month a year earlier. However, cumulative output through July totaled 4.16 million tonnes, a 6.6% increase over the 3.90 million tonnes recorded in 2024.
Imports also continued to rise. In July, Brazil imported 4.50 million tonnes of fertilizers, a 19.7% increase year-over-year. From January to July, imports totaled 22.98 million tonnes, a 12.1% increase compared to 20.51 million tonnes in the same period of 2024.

The Port of Paranaguá has consolidated its position as the country’s main gateway for fertilizers, handling six million tonnes during the period — an increase of 13.7% compared with 2024 (5.28 million tonnes). The port accounted for 26.1% of all fertilizer unloaded across Brazil’s ports, according to data from Siacesp/MDIC.
