Fuel crisis: rural producers join strike in Argentina

The Argentine Association of Agricultural Producers (AAPA) joined the truck drivers’ strike caused by the severe crisis in access to diesel, which already affects 20 provinces.
The AAPA described the lack of diesel as “the lack of a fundamental input that affects transport and seasonal planting, harvesting and other tasks that cannot be postponed in all productive regions of Argentina.”
“The lack of availability of essential inputs such as diesel is further exacerbated by the impossibility of having access to spare parts and tires for vehicles, tractors, harvesters, and agricultural machinery in general,” the statement reads.
