The Ministry of Ports and Airports announced this Friday (May 16) the second round of port auctions for 2025, valued at R$ 1.03 billion.
This round includes terminals VCD29 at the Port of Vila do Conde (PA), RDJ07 at the Port of Rio de Janeiro (RJ), POA26 at the Port of Porto Alegre (RS), and TMP Maceió at the Port of Maceió (AL), intended for the handling of solid bulk, oil, and passenger operations.
The auction is expected to take place in July. The process is subject to the approval of technical studies and the publication of the official bidding notice by the National Waterway Transportation Agency (Antaq).
The formation of this auction round was made possible after the Federal Court of Accounts approved the lease of terminal VCD29 and waived the requirement for further analysis of the RDJ07 terminal concession.
The first auction round was held in April, attracting R$ 2 billion in investments. The federal government plans to hold around 60 auctions over the next four years.
“The second round aims to expand Brazil’s logistics capacity for the outflow of agricultural production, enabling improved transport infrastructure and the generation of jobs and income, as well as greater comfort for passengers and tourists,” said Minister Silvio Costa Filho.
