Honey Exports Rise in the First Four Months of 2025

Brazilian exports of raw honey increased in the first four months of 2025, according to Agrostat Brasil data published in the Agricultural Situation Bulletin last Thursday (May 29), compiled by the Department of Rural Economics (Deral) of the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply (Seab). Between January and April, Brazil exported 11,901 tonnes of honey, representing an 8.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, when 11,000 tonnes were shipped.

Export revenue during the period reached USD 37.431 million, a 34.9% increase over the USD 27.740 million recorded in the previous year. The average price per tonne rose 24.7%, from USD 2,521.83 to USD 3,145.23 – equivalent to USD 3.15 per kilo.

At the state level, Minas Gerais led the rankings with 2,991 tonnes exported, generating revenue of USD 9.504 million. Paraná remained in second place with 2,409 tonnes and USD 7.774 million in revenue. “Paraná showed a significant increase of 129.6% in export volume and 201.8% in revenue,” Deral analysts noted.

Next in line were Piauí with 1,843 tonnes and USD 5,487 million, Santa Catarina with 1,317 tonnes and USD 4,025 million, and São Paulo with 1,115 tonnes and USD 5,572 million.

The main destination for Brazilian honey remains the United States, which accounted for 83.1% of the total export volume — equivalent to 9,889 tonnes — with revenue of USD 31.023 million. During the same period in 2024, the U.S. had imported 9,600 tonnes for USD 23.093 million.

Other notable markets included Canada (950 tonnes and USD 3.017 million), Germany (421 tonnes and USD 1.308 million), the United Kingdom (268 tonnes and USD 794,000), the Netherlands (200 tonnes and USD 624,000), and Australia (40.6 tonnes and USD 98,900).
