On Wednesday, the federal district court of the 4th district (TRF4) confirmed that Portos do Paraná may continue the rock-crushing dredging works at the Pedras Palanganas complex in the access channel to the Port of Paranaguá.
“The decision to suspend the injunction proves the thesis presented by the public company, that the environmental license granted by Ibama respected and complied with all legal dictates”, evaluated the legal director of Portos do Paraná, Marcus Freitas, who monitored the session remotely.
WORKS – The work was tendered in 2020 and the contract was signed in October of that year. In November, the work order was released.
While the executive project for the work progressed, a preliminary decision of the substitute judge Flávio Antônio da Cruz, of the 11th Federal Court, suspended the environmental license and the work due to a public civil action filed by the Federal Public Ministry and the State Public Ministry.
Last August, the TRF4 granted the preliminary injunction from the legal department of Portos do Paraná and suspended the preliminary injunction of the substitute judge of the 11th Federal Court. The work began on September 6 and is already more than 50% complete.
