The port terminal operator JBS Terminais, part of the JBS S.A. group, has completed its first year of operations at the Port of Itajaí with strong results. In just twelve months, the terminal resumed container handling after nearly two years of inactivity and reaffirmed its relevance in Brazil’s port sector.
Since operations began, the company has handled over 300,000 TEUs — the equivalent of 20-foot containers. In 2025 alone, 262,000 TEUs were moved, serving about 2,400 clients, including major companies such as JBS/Seara, Berneck, Aurora, Britânia, and Comexport. Among the highlights was the import of more than 7,200 BYD vehicles.

In addition to operational volume, financial performance underscores the company’s progress. JBS Terminais has invested R$130 million in infrastructure and recorded net profits of R$60 million this year, 12% above budget expectations.
Growth was driven by structural measures. The unification of operational areas, authorized by the Ministry of Ports and Waterways and Antaq, boosted logistics efficiency and increased operational stability. Moreover, the doubling of berthing capacity — now with four docks — allows the terminal to receive up to three large vessels simultaneously, strengthening Itajaí’s competitiveness.
The transitional lease contract, extended on 29/09, ensured operational continuity and reaffirmed JBS’s strategic role in Santa Catarina’s port sector.
