Itajaí Port’s Container Operations to Resume with Five Shipping Lines

NSC Total heard that container operations at the Port of Itajaí are expected to resume with five shipping lines. While JBS/Seara has not officially confirmed the information, which is being kept under wraps, sources within the port sector, who are closely monitoring the market, have provided this insight.

With five shipping lines, Itajaí Port is anticipated to return to full container-handling capacity.

Operations at the Port of Itajaí are slated to resume on September 9, with the customs area cleared by the relevant authorities. Since JBS/Seara took over the temporary concession contract, the port has seen two isolated container ship calls. These ships docked in the public area, as the private area was still awaiting official authorizations.
