From this week onwards, Log-In Logística Intermodal will expand its cabotage service in Manaus. Known as the ‘Manus Expansion,’ this service is conducted in partnership with and will connect the state of Amazonas to the Southeast and Northeast regions of Brazil.
The new shipping line features two container vessels and will provide calls at the ports of Santos, Salvador, Suape, and Manaus every two weeks. According to Log-In’s Sales Manager, Igor Teles, expanding the service coverage area opens up new business opportunities and enhances Log-In competitiveness in the market.
Log-In’s entry into this business segment is in line with the company’s commercial strategy of converting road freight and expanding its participation in the north of Brazil. One of the significant gains that the Manaus “expansion” brings about is allowing Log-In to re-gain access to Bahia, making it possible to conduct transport cargo from Manaus to Salvador without transshipment in less than nine days.
“Before, any vessel that left the port of Santos towards Salvador had to, first, go to Suape or Pecém and then return to Salvador, totaling a transit time of ten days. Now, we will be able to service this route in just three,” said Teles, reaffirming cabotage competitiveness compared to road transportation.
