Week 202311

From March 2023 onwards, A.P. Moller-Maersk will offer a direct service to/from Northern Europe to/from Rio Grande in southern Brazil in substitution of a transshipment service. Thus, goods will no longer need to be transferred from one vessel to another and head to a different destination after going through all customs procedures in the country.

With this decision, Maersk service Samba (Northern Europe – East Coast South America) will have its transit time reduced from Rio Grande to Northern Europe by up to ten days.

Also, the Port of Rio Grande is no longer part of the Bossa Nova service, a decision taken to improve reliability.

See the route below:

A.P.Moller – Maersk constantly monitors routes to ensure the supply chain moves with agility, connectivity, and ease and will continue to do what it can to keep cargo flow with minimal delays and disruptions and hopes this solution will help add more connectivity and ease of planning for customers.
