Major container lines alter Asia – East Coast South America service

CMA CGM, COSCO, OOCL, Evergreen, PIL, and Yang Ming will implement changes to their jointly operated Asia-Latin America service in May.
The enhancements will concern the Asia-ECSA multicarrier ‘SEAS 1’ (CMA CGM)/ ‘ESA’ (COSCO)/ ‘TLA 1’ (OOCL)/ ‘ESA’ (Evergreen) / ‘SA2’ (PIL) / ‘SA3’ (Yang Ming) loop and the Asia-ECSA multicarrier ‘SEAS 2’ (CMA CGM) / ‘ESA 2’ (COSCO SHIPPING) / ‘TLA2’ (OOCL), ‘ESA 3’ (Evergreen) / SSA (PIL).
The changes will consist of the following:
The Asia-ECSA multicarrier ‘SEAS 1’ (CMA CGM)/ ‘ESA’ (COSCO)/ ‘TLA 1’ (OOCL)/ ‘ESA’ (Evergreen) / ‘SA2’ (PIL) / ‘SA3’ (Yang Ming) loop will drop Rio Grande and will stop double calls at Paranagua and Navegantes. PIL will rename its participation from ‘SA2’ TO ‘ES1’.
The new rotation, effective on May 10, will be: Shanghai – Ningbo – Yantian – Hong Kong – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Navegantes – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Paranagua – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong – Shanghai
The Asia-ECSA multicarrier ‘SEAS 2’ (CMA CGM) / ‘ESA 2’ (COSCO SHIPPING) / ‘TLA2’ (OOCL), ‘ESA 3’ (Evergreen) / SSA (PIL) will add a Tianjun call, as well as Rio de Janeiro and Colombo. Yang Ming will also join as slotter, branding its participation ‘SA5’ and PIL will rename its participation ‘ES2’.
The fleet of twelve ships will be harmonized to 14,000 TEUs and deployed at the rotation: Tianjin – Qingdao – Shanghai – Ningbo – Shekou – Singapore – Rio de Janeiro – Santos – Paranagua – Itapoa – Navegantes – Santos (SBG) – Colombo – Singapore – Hong Kong – Tianjin.
