Dec, 24, 2024 Posted by Denise VileraWeek 202449
The Brazilian government welcomes the Chilean government’s announcement authorizing the export of Hass avocados from Brazil to Chile.
This authorization marks an important milestone for Brazilian fruit production while expanding the availability of fruits for Chilean consumers. Chile is a promising market for avocado exporters, with an impressive per capita consumption of 8.2 kg per year.
With this market opening, Brazil has reached 222 new market accesses in 2024, totaling 300 new business opportunities in 62 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
This achievement results from coordinated efforts between the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), underscoring Brazil’s commitment to expanding and diversifying its agricultural exports.
