Market Opening in El Salvador for Brazilian Beef

The Brazilian government has welcomed the decision by the government of El Salvador to approve the model of the International Sanitary Certificate (CSI) for the export of Brazilian beef to the country.

In 2024, Brazil exported over USD 105 million in agricultural products to El Salvador. With this new market opening, bilateral trade is expected to expand, given that El Salvador imported more than USD 283 million in beef last year.
With this announcement, Brazil’s agribusiness sector has reached 392 market openings since the beginning of 2023.
These results are the outcome of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
