Mexico will begin importing birds from Brazil for exhibition and breeding purposes. These are zoo birds bred in controlled environments intended for scientific research and tourism.
Mexico ranks as the 8th largest destination for Brazilian agricultural products, with exports totaling $1.82 billion in the first seven months of this year.
This new market opening adds to the authorizations obtained in 2024 for exports from Brazil to Mexico, including donkey and poultry genetic material, porcine pepsin, poultry oil, and fish oil for animal feed.
With this latest authorization, Brazil’s agribusiness sector has achieved its 103rd market opening this year, reaching a total of 181 market openings across 58 destinations since the beginning of 2023.
These results are the outcome of joint efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MAPA) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE).
