Minerva Foods received approval from the United States to export fresh beef from its unit in José Bonifácio (SP).
Consenquently, Minerva, the largest beef protein exporter in South America, has now seven Brazilian units authorized by the USA.
“This achievement (creates) another excellent opportunity for the company in the North American market, which is a relevant importer and to which we already export other products”, said the quality manager of Minerva, Márcia Lopes.
According to the company, the facilities in Araguaína (TO), Janaúba (MG), Paranatinga (MT) and Palmeiras de Goiás (GO) are already authorized to ship fresh meat to the US. The Barretos (SP) unit can ship canned meat, in addition to the Minerva Fine Foods business division, wich sells cooked and frozen products.
Data from the Brazilian Association of Meat-Exporting Industries (Abiec) indicate that the US is the third largest buyer of Brazilian beef, falling short only to China and Hong Kong.
