Minerva Global Foods exported the first container of carbon-neutral beef to Switzerland from its operations in Uruguay, said, on July 12, Danilo Cabrera, the company’s Head of Investor Relations, in a live stream promoted by the Bastter Channel on Twitch.
“In other words, these products were certified by an independent European institution that all carbon within the three scopes of assessment had been neutralized in the production and export processes,” explained him.
The executive asked, “can you imagine the value of this operation?” citing the added value benefits of sustainable livestock production. “[Sustainability] has a great synergy with commercial strategy because more and more high-income countries are willing to pay a ‘premium’ and pay more for products like this, which allows us to maximize profitability,” added.
