Montevideo offers incentives to encourage vessel calls

Uruguay’s National Ports Administration (ANP) is offering a 5% discount on its Montevideo Port use tariff to shipping lines that maintain the same number of vessel calls at the port in 2019, as in 2018. The discount stands at 8% if last year’s numbers are exceeded. ANP is confident that this year the port will have a similar number of calls as last year.

The offer is valid for container ships, container barges and Ro-Ro vessels – both deepsea and cabotage. Maersk has informed ANP that it will increase calls at Montevideo in 2019, while Cosco, Grimaldi, and Hapag Lloyd plan to maintain 2018 numbers.
