Norcoast, a Brazilian coastal shipping company, announces the transfer of its operations to DP World’s terminal at the Port of Santos. The change, which will begin on November 14 with the northbound voyage of the vessel NC BReda, is part of a long-term strategy focused on increasing efficiency and sustainable company growth.
Norcoast, which serves both domestic cargo and foreign carriers with demand for other ports, intends to expand its customer base by increasing connection options for cabotage and feeder cargo.
According to Stephano Galvão, Norcoast’s Operations Director, the decision was guided by criteria of operational efficiency and long-term safety. “The change will not impact domestic operations and will provide significant logistical gains. We expect more savings and greater efficiency in inland transportation. Our synergy with DP World will bring a smooth and efficient operation throughout the chain,” he highlights.
Recently, DP World announced the renewal of a contract with Hapag-Lloyd for operations at the Port of Santos, ensuring the continuity of container handling for the next 10 years.
Operating from North to South of the country, Norcoast has the second-highest capacity in the market and the shortest transit time for cargo departing from Manaus. Operating in six ports — Santos (SP), Paranaguá (PR), Itajaí (SC), Suape (PE), Pecém (CE), and Manaus (AM) — the company relies on integrated logistics and, above all, on door-to-door service.
