Trump’s tariffs have already taken effect, and some Brazilian companies are beginning to feel the impact. Fischer Sucos, located in Videira, in the Midwest region of Santa Catarina, is facing difficulties with 2,300 tonnes of product stuck at the Port of Santos, in São Paulo.

The company’s manager, Claudinei Schweitzer, explained in an interview with NDTV RECORD reporter Luan Turcati that 80% of their production is destined for the United States due to the logistics chain.

“The tariff situation is real and caught us off guard. We had already sent a large quantity of juice to the U.S., and indeed, part of our stock is currently stuck at the Port of Santos, awaiting a solution,” Schweitzer detailed.

Despite the impasse, production has not been halted, and the product is being redirected to the domestic market. “Since we are in the off-season, we have been able to sell to the Brazilian market,” the manager explained.

The greater concern is with the upcoming harvest, which will yield a higher production volume. One of the company’s strategies is to seek out new international markets to offload its apple juice. “Our product is certified for all markets, no problem. We can reach various destinations,” Schweitzer stated.

The manager hopes the situation will be resolved before the next harvest, to avoid further losses for the company.
