Espírito Santo received a new shipment of electric and hybrid vehicles this Monday (6) at the Barra do Riacho port terminal in Aracruz. The vessel, owned by a Chinese automaker, brought 5,325 vehicles into the country, which will be transported to Cariacica before being distributed to several Brazilian states.

The ship has a 10-deck structure and was designed for large-scale operations. This is the automaker’s second call at Aracruz in 2025. The same company unloaded over 5,000 units in February at the same terminal. With this latest shipment, more than 10,800 vehicles have entered the country via the Espírito Santo port this year.

Expansion and Job Creation

The increase in port operations in Aracruz follows the progress in logistics and the expansion of infrastructure aimed at foreign trade. According to the Secretary of Economic Development, José Eduardo, the operations require specialized infrastructure and skilled labor in various areas.

These operations require robust and specialized infrastructure and qualified professionals in logistics, transportation, security, foreign trade, and port services. As a result, there is growing demand for local labor, driving the creation of both direct and indirect jobs in Aracruz,” he stated.

The rise in cargo throughput and the arrival of new companies are consolidating Aracruz as a strategic hub in the port sector. According to local authorities, the municipality has stood out for its ability to attract investments and its competitiveness on the national stage.

Port activity has also encouraged the establishment of new companies and the expansion of existing industries.

“Aracruz is no longer just promising—it’s a reality! Those seeking professional growth will find a dynamic, competitive environment full of potential here. With planning, training, and development support, the municipality stands out as one of the main engines of growth in the state,” said Mayor Dr. Coutinho.

Logistics and Distribution

After unloading at the Barra do Riacho terminal, the vehicles are sent to distribution centers in Cariacica. From there, they are dispatched to various states, meeting the growing demand for electric and hybrid models in the Brazilian market.

Operations at the Aracruz port reinforce Espírito Santo’s role as a strategic logistics point in Brazil, especially in the automotive sector, and strengthen the state’s integration into the global vehicle production and distribution chain.
