Papaya exports reach all-time high in July

Brazilian papaya exports hit a new record in July, driven by strong international demand, particularly from the European Union. According to Comex Stat data, just over 4,000 tonnes of the fruit were shipped during the month, generating around USD 6.2 million (FOB). Although the volume was 2.8% lower than in June, it marked the best July performance since the historical series began in 1997.
From January to July, Brazil exported more than 31,000 tonnes of papaya, generating over USD 43 million in revenue. These figures represent a 32% increase in revenue and a 29% rise in volume compared to the same period in 2024, also marking the sector’s best result since records began.
The strong performance is primarily supported by sales to European countries, which account for over 95% of the total export volume. For the remainder of 2025, expectations are for continued robust demand, which will encourage further investment in international markets.
