Paraguay’s national animal health service, Senacsa, said Argentina has authorized two Paraguayan meatpacking plants to export fresh pork and pork offal, chilled or frozen, to the neighboring market.
Citing a formal communication from Argentina’s National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa), Senacsa said the approvals cover the UPISA and Pirayú facilities and take effect immediately.
Senacsa said the authorization follows an evaluation process that included an audit visit in December 2025 and technical exchanges between the two countries’ sanitary authorities.
The opening is significant for pork offal, a category that recorded no exports until last year but had already logged foreign shipments worth $34,419 as of March, Senacsa said.
Paraguay’s pork exports exceeded 11 million kilograms by the end of March, generating $22.8 million in revenue, the agency said. Compared with the same period a year earlier, volumes rose nearly 30% while export proceeds increased 42%, it added.
