Paraguay’s beef exports were down 24.8% in volume through the end of April compared with the same period last year. By contrast, pork shipments remained on a growth path, rising 34.2% in the first four months of 2026.

According to a report from the National Service for Animal Quality and Health, or Senacsa, Paraguay exported 87,899,181 kilograms of beef through the end of April, compared with 116,997,193 kilograms in the same period a year earlier.

The drop in revenue, however, was partly cushioned by higher prices. Beef shipments generated $578,255,705 through April, a figure 12% lower than in the same period last year.

In the pork segment, growth continued in both volume and revenue.

Through the end of April, Paraguay exported 5,684,743 kilograms of pork, generating revenue of $17,515,649.

Compared with the first four months of last year, pork shipments rose 34.26% in volume and 46.53% in revenue.

Chicken also posted a recovery. Through April, shipments of the product rose 23.7% in volume year on year, while revenue increased 9.44%.

In the cumulative period through April, Paraguay exported 2,202,826 kilograms of chicken, worth $3,224,591.

Main destinations

The main destination markets for Paraguayan beef are Chile, Israel, the United States and Taiwan.

In pork, Taiwan remains the leading buyer, accounting for 87% of the country’s total export volume so far this year.

For chicken, the main destination is Iraq, followed by Vietnam and the Philippines.
