Week 202622

Biodiesel exports in the first months of 2026 generated approximately US$11.6 million in foreign exchange revenue for Paraguay, nearly doubling the US$6.20 million recorded in the same period of 2025, according to the Paraguayan Chamber of Oilseed and Cereal Processors, CAPPRO.

To illustrate the sector’s growth trajectory and pace, the chamber noted that revenue generated during the period already exceeds the total recorded for all of 2023 and represents more than three-quarters of the foreign exchange revenue generated by the product throughout 2024.

Even with the strong current performance, the potential for further growth remains significant, given the instability in global energy markets and the positive outlook for agroindustry, along with the resulting availability of oil.

To deepen this growth path, it will be essential to define incentives that connect the final stages of the production chain, CAPPRO said.
