Paraguay’s livestock exports reach US$920 million through May, with pork and poultry sales rising

Paraguay’s livestock sector exported US$920.3 million worth of animal products through the end of May, totaling 217.5 kg, despite a 23.67% decline in shipment volume from the previous period, according to a report from the National Animal Quality and Health Service, Senacsa.

Beef again led foreign sales, generating US$709 million, down 16.4% from 2025. It was followed by beef offal, which brought in US$37.6 million, a 33.9% decline from the same period last year. Chile, Israel and the United States remained the main export markets.

Other segments, however, showed stronger momentum and helped offset the decline in beef export volumes. Pork sales rose 39.67% to US$21.9 million, while poultry exports increased 40.43% to US$4.9 million, supporting greater diversification of the export basket.

Taiwan, Brazil and Uruguay were the main destinations for pork exports, while Iraq, Vietnam and Kosovo led demand for poultry.

Offal and byproducts also posted growth, rising 52.92%, supported by better use of livestock production.

The figures point to solid performance across several segments, opening room for market diversification and helping sustain export revenue for Paraguay’s economy.
