Exports totaled 1.97 million tonnes, led by calcined coke, non-calcined coke, and corn meal. Imports reached 2.14 million tonnes, driven by bituminous coal, salt, and industrial inputs.

According to SCPAR Porto de Imbituba, investments in infrastructure, dredging, quay expansion, and digitalization are expected to further increase the terminal’s attractiveness. The forecast is for the port to surpass 7 million tonnes by the end of 2025.

In addition to economic impact, the growth in operations has generated direct and indirect jobs and boosted logistics and services sectors in the region. Between January and August, exports and imports moved more than US$ 1.13 billion, according to data from the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services.
