The Port of Itajaí received a shipment of 588 vehicles from automaker BMW, which arrived aboard the Adriatic Highway, a Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessel specifically designed for transporting cars.
The docking took place on the morning of Friday, June 13, and involved coordinated logistics operations at the quay.
The port is renowned for handling high-value-added cargo. This type of operation directly contributes to the local economy by generating jobs and strengthening the city’s and surrounding region’s logistics chain.
According to João Paulo Tavares Bastos, Superintendent of the Port of Itajaí, the port is becoming increasingly competitive.
“The port has already reached BRL 80 million in revenue by June, surpassing the total for all of last year, which was BRL 86 million. This represents a very significant advancement for the local port sector,” said Superintendent João Paulo Tavares Bastos.
